Art at the Port [Waikato]

Did you know? Port Waikato, a handsome coastal town only 30 minutes away from us, is a hub for amazing artists.

Each year, the resident artists organise two “Art At the Port Festivals” which become a community get-together and family festival. Once a year, our local artisans from Te Puaha o Waikato/Port Waikato open their studios to the public for a 2-day annual event- Art Weekend Port Waikato.

When you plan your stay with us, why not drive through Port Waikato Township on your way and visit some of the artists and the stunning scenery of the Port?

Robin Ranga

Robin Ranga is a multi-media artist who works from her home studio in Port Waikato. Through her figurative work, she explores universal ideas of psychology, sociology and culture; the results are sensitive and compassionate pieces that invite contemplation.

Ranga is drawn to the use of clay for its conceptual connections to the human condition. Her handling of clay leaves evidence of the maker's hand; referencing the tactile qualities of clay and the humanness of the maker.

Robin opens her gorgeous Studio Windsong (7 Cobourne Place, Port Waikato RD5  TUAKAU 2695) to the public regularly, get in touch before arranging a visit to avoid disappointment!
